Snowflake Skating Club in its 36th year, located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador, is looking for a Head Coach to oversee approximately 150 skaters in kidskates, canskate, starskate, competitive and Ice Dance programs, in both group and private lesson format.
We currently operate from September to April, with 15.5 hours of icetime per week, however there is potential for future programs to start earlier, and end later in the season.
The Head Coach would be responsible for group and private lesson coaching and development in all disciplines – freeskate, dance, and skills, as well as accompanying skaters to competitions and test days. You would also be instrumental in the choreography and planning of an annual ice show.
The successful candidate must be a Skate Canada Certified Coach, NCCP level 1 or higher, must be an enthusiastic and highly motivated coach who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Parents, Skaters and the Executive.
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is a thriving community of 7,572 people and has an abundance of recreational, cultural, and social qualities that are hard to find anywhere else in a town our size.
